PFA Premier League Team of the Year: David James (Portsmouth), Bacary Sagna (Arsenal), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Nemanja Vidic (Man Utd), Gael Clichy (Arsenal), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal), Fernando Torres (Liverpool).
EPL Player of the Year went to Cristiano Ronaldo and EPL Young Player of the Year went to Cesc Fabregas.
Manchester United. Why? They are playing their bet football in years. The other three competitors are surprisingly still in the tournament in my opinion with their recent form. Man U scores goals and give up few and that can’t be said for the other teams. Then you have to look at match-ups and style of play. Man U can play at a speed of play that their nearest opponents, Barcelona, are simply not used to. And between Liverpool and Chelsea, Man U will have the edge over either of them. If anything, it will be a team from the EPL holding the Champion’s League trophy in May.

I’ll admit, I’m a big Arsenal fan so today’s Champion’s league game against Liverpool was quite disappointing. The game didn’t start that way and Arsenal stayed strong until the final few minutes. Whether it was a penalty or not, I don’t believe it was necessary for Toure to be so aggressive on getting to the other side of the man. It wasn’t so much the contact because there really wasn’t any, it was the aggressiveness of him movement. The ref like most refs have poor motor skill development when it comes to the game they coach because really how many have played at a high level, long enough to know body mechanics and strength as opposed to flopping. Babel wasn’t going to go anywhere after that so the easier option was to flop.
So Liverpool can thank Arsenal for giving away a win. And lastly, why didn’t Wenger put Walcott in a long time ago? Eboue lacks concentration and defends poorly. That’s why Wenger bought Sagna at the beginning of the season. Too many injuries Arsenal, too many ways to look at why the team dropped off in the EPL and exited the Champion’s League prematurely.
I think Arsenal needs one more solid defender and forward. Any thoughts?

This happened 3 minutes into the game! What was Taylor thinking? This is complete nonsense and players continue to ruin the game acting like wild animals on field. If there is anything this game should have taught a true professional, it would be self control.

I have been fortunate to be a resident of the state of Hawaii during the Pan-Pacific Championships. I was on the field for all four games capturing the behind-the-scenes look at the PPC. But at the end of the tournament, I put the video camera a side and came to one conclusion: Houston we have a problem!
There will be no meaningless detailed report of the game here, but all you need to know is that the Japanese side routed the Dynamo 6-1 in the final. Gamba only scored one goal on the loosely torn Galaxy but managed to dominate the defending MLS champions. And if you saw the goals, they were incredible goals.
So from one game, someone can prematurely conclude that the MLS continues to need work based on the fact that a third place J-League team can dominate the MLS champions. But as we know, the sport of football can be deceiving if you don’t know what you are looking for. I will say Houston is a better side than they showed, but that one game can reiterate in some minds that Houston’s problem is also the league’s problem. It’s the criticism that comes along with being the newest face in the sport.
