I’ll admit, I’m a big Arsenal fan so today’s Champion’s league game against Liverpool was quite disappointing. The game didn’t start that way and Arsenal stayed strong until the final few minutes. Whether it was a penalty or not, I don’t believe it was necessary for Toure to be so aggressive on getting to the other side of the man. It wasn’t so much the contact because there really wasn’t any, it was the aggressiveness of him movement. The ref like most refs have poor motor skill development when it comes to the game they coach because really how many have played at a high level, long enough to know body mechanics and strength as opposed to flopping. Babel wasn’t going to go anywhere after that so the easier option was to flop.
So Liverpool can thank Arsenal for giving away a win. And lastly, why didn’t Wenger put Walcott in a long time ago? Eboue lacks concentration and defends poorly. That’s why Wenger bought Sagna at the beginning of the season. Too many injuries Arsenal, too many ways to look at why the team dropped off in the EPL and exited the Champion’s League prematurely.
I think Arsenal needs one more solid defender and forward. Any thoughts?
